Scriptures: Isaiah 43:5-11, 11:10-13 Main Reflection: To see God being with us from history Purpose: Return to God - The God we believe is the One who reveals Himself. (There is no other god except me)
- Israel became divided into the northern and southern kingdoms. The northern kingdom was destroyed by Assyria and the southern by Babylonia. The main reason was that they “ had forsaken God and worshiped idols.”
- In 1948 the nation of Israel was restored: an improbable victory was won in the Six Day War as God fulfilled His own promise.
- Return from the ends of east and west (v.5)
- East: The ten tribes of the northern kingdom were scattered to India and Burma. They worshiped God but also other idols. In Chinese Han dynasty, Chiang tribe (Jews in Tibet, Szechuan, and Kaifeng) had many traditions and customs of the Old Testament.
- West (America, Canada, Europe): God will gather.
- Return from the north and south hindered:
- Directly 1400 km south of Jerusalem is Ethiopia.
- Directly 1400 km north of Jerusalem clearly today is Moscow. In Russia, the Jewish remnants were mostly the elite intellectuals. God stirred up the environment in which Russia released the Jews during the time of the Persian conflict in 1991 so that the north and the south gave up.
- Except Jesus there is no other savior: Messiah already came and will return soon!
- Man’s earthly days are transient. God wants us to return to Him during the limited time.
- Return to God’s salvation: the forgiveness of Cross. There is no god in the world who died for man.
- Submit to God’s reign: God truly reigns over every aspect of our lives and so yield to the Lord.
- The preparations for the temple are ready. The remnants of Israel also have returned from the four corners of earth. The kings of north, of east and of south also are gradually manifested. These are signs of the Lord’s returning---the seal of testimony.
- Christians understand the steadfastness of God’s plan to date for Israel from His selection and guidance by reading the Scriptures. Similarly, when we become the children of God, He will continually lead us.
