Ice breaker: But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1

Scriptures: Isaiah 43:1-4, Exodus 13:17-14:31

Purpose: To gladly accept oneself to become God’s child

1. Fear comes from the lack of hope. 
2. Christians should view history from God’s point of view. 
3. Train in listening to sermons, taking notes, and the habit of carrying the bible. A truly content person will share the Word of God he/she receives (actively seeking). 
4. Correct prayers are those in the plan of God. Reading the bible will make us understand God’s plans. 
5. The Lord who created salvation and summoned me (v.1): the existence of God becomes the reason and purpose of all that exists.
   1. Spring gone and autumn came. The concept of cycling of time produced the “cycle of birth and death” (constrained by the cosmic view of the naturalism).
   2. Man discovered nature and planets and named things. All things, universe, and nature cannot discover man. Yet, God created man and is above all things and also time (from beginning to the last). At the end, God will judge men according to His plan. If man does not return to His plan, he will fall into emptiness. 
   3. Man’s “knowing” is relative (medical and scientific theories will change). God’s “knowing” is absolute. Therefore, we do not have to fear.
6. The Lord who is with you in water and fire (Exodus 13:17-14:31):
   1. The first step in faith: leave Egypt, receive the new life, and cross the Red Sea. 
   2. After the Israelites left Egypt, Egypt did not have any more great deeds. 
   3. Christians in the world should become a blessing to companies, families, and peoples.
7. The Lord who views you as precious and honored (v.4): the hymn: no one loves me like Jesus, no friend like the Lord who loves all, none like Him who forgives all my sins, the greatness of His love for me.
