Scriptures: Isaiah 44:1-5, Deuterotomy 32:15, Psalms 37:25 Main Reflection: Contentment Purpose: True contentment: begin with thoughts
- Man in his freedom will feel as if his determination will conquer nature. Man has blindly sought his own values and yet is still not content. But God wants man to be content, starting with his thoughts.
- Water poured on the thirsty land: a. Longing for Word of God can satisfy the life of man b. Paul collected donations for the churches yet he himself made a living by tent making. He knew when to be humble and when to be honorable. He did not let the outward things influence his heart. It was not about having money but about being content in heart. c. Contentment does not conflict with seeking: those who do not understand contentment will blindly seek (do not devise grand plan oneself); blind contentment leads to stagnation (follow God’s grand plan)
- Contentment leads to faith (streams on the dry ground) a. The three slogans John Wesley loudly cried
- Pour His Spirit on your offspring a. Our God whom we believe not only protects us but also our children. b. Faith of vision of blessings poured upon your children in the future. c. Motivation drive actions and goals yield results.
